THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN OEM AND AFTERMARKET iPHONE SCREENS
Firstly, OEM stands for Original Equipment Manufacture. Apple has their screens made by their own OEM.
Aftermarket screens are made by third parties, mimicking the looks and functionality of OEM screens, but can be much cheaper. The real question is, is there a significant difference to the end user?
Aftermarket screens come in 2 qualities…
Standard and High quality.
The vast majority of non authorised Apple repair stores, will sell standard quality for high prices, preying on consumer ignorance. There is also a difference in the screen brightness and colour richness between OEM and Aftermarket, but more importantly, voiding warranty on devices less than 2 years old.
