The new Apple MacBook Pro 16-inch 2021 represents a significant advancement for Apple’s hardware platform, bringing together all of the benefits of the company’s comprehensive computing vision.
The drive to develop slimmer devices while cramming more and more powerful parts into them has been a recurring trend in productivity laptops and the best ultrabooks over the previous decade. Apple has gone against a long-standing tendency with the MacBook Pro 16-inch. The new Apple MacBook Pro is boldly designed for advanced users, and it isn’t afraid to be thicker and heavier to do so.
The M1 Max system on a chip, which we found to be both extraordinarily powerful and extremely efficient, powers the whole thing. The MacBook Pro’s additional size enables superior thermals to cool the CPU, as well as powerful speakers and a complete complement of connectors, including HDMI and an SD card reader. Its stunning new Liquid Retina XDR display makes almost everything you do on it appear amazing, and the 1080p webcam on top ensures you look your best at video conferences.

Reviews for Macbook Pro 16
MacBook Pro 16: Design
When you take a step back, the MacBook Pro 16 still looks like a MacBook. The changes in this generation, on the other hand, aren’t subtle enough to be overlooked. The Apple logo and the keyboard’s backdrop are both black, which has become the main accent colour. When so many computers have imitated the MacBook aesthetic, the black keyboard feels like a statement piece. The MacBook Pro’s changeup is refreshing, as silver notebooks with black keycaps have become standard in the laptop world. The “MacBook Pro” logo has been removed from the bottom frame, new rubber feet have been added to the bottom, and ultra-thin frames have been added to the top.
MacBook Pro 16: Ports
More proof that Apple has listened to criticism and supplied the MacBook Pro 16 inch with ports that professionals would genuinely want can be found along either edge of the laptop. While Thunderbolt 4/USB 4 ports are still ample, the 16-inch Pro now has a few more options.
There’s an HDMI out, one Thunderbolt 4/USB connector, and an SDXC card reader that supports UHS-II along the right edge. A headphone jack, two extra Thunderbolt 4/USB 4 connections, and the new MagSafe 3 charging port can all be found along the left edge, something our experts in Bondi Beach loved!
MacBook Pro 16: Display
The new Apple MacBook Pro’s 16.2-inch Liquid Retina XDR display is one of the most brilliant screens on a laptop. It’s a vivid, vibrant mini-LED display with a resolution of 3456 x 2234 and a refresh rate of up to 120 Hz thanks to Apple’s ProMotion adaptive refresh rate.
This is the first Mac to use Liquid Retina XDR, which was also introduced in the iPad Pro earlier in 2021. Mini-LEDs, rather than conventional LEDs, are used to power these screens. Mini-LED, unlike OLED, does not use individually lit pixels; instead, millions of local dimming zones are used, resulting in deeper blacks and higher contrast than LED.
MacBook Pro 16: Performance
This MacBook Pro 16 is powered by the M1 Pro chip, which is a powerhouse. The moment you start using it. It’s an Apple-designed chip with a 10-core CPU (8 performance cores and 2 efficiency cores), 32GB of RAM, and a 16-core GPU. This is the M1 Pro’s maximum specification; to go higher, you’ll need the M1 Max.
The fascinating thing about the M1 Pro isn’t just how powerful it is; it also has some excellent hardware accelerations built-in, all at astonishingly low power draw rates – to the point where you can run intensive apps to push the CPU/GPU capabilities on battery and not notice a significant performance drop.
MacBook Pro 16: Battery Life
The MacBook Pro 16-inch 2021, as per Apple, can function for up to 21 hours on a single charge. The 16-inch MacBook Pro 2021 delivered an outstanding 14 hours of battery life on a single charge when we tested it by endlessly browsing the web over Wi-Fi with the screen brightness set to 150 nits. That’s a laptop with extremely extended battery life. This new MacBook Pro also has fast charging capabilities, delivering on Apple’s promise of going from zero to 50 percent battery in just 30 minutes.
MacBook Pro 16: Software
Along with the new MacBook Pro 16 inches, Apple is releasing macOS Monterey. There are still a bunch of new features in macOS Monterey that may entice you to update. Safari receives a major visual makeover, which looks especially good on the 16-inch Pro’s large Liquid Retina XDR display, and the Shortcuts app finally makes its way to macOS. Of course, if you take a lot of photos of notes, signs, and other important items, the new Live Text function, which allows you to choose text in images and copy it elsewhere, will be a big hit.
MacBook Pro 16: Our Verdict
The MacBook Pro 16 inches is a significant upgrade over its predecessor, so if you’re looking for a 16-inch Pro, this is the model to go with. This is a flexible pro laptop that will serve you equally well in business and play, thanks to its impressive battery life, great speed, elegantly redesigned design, and large, stunning screen. Configuring it with one of Apple’s powerful new M1 Max chips, if you’re willing to pay the price, will give you some of the greatest performance you can get in a MacBook.
