Make sure your WiFi button is turned on
Before you get worried and start to panic make sure you have enabled wifi on your phone. Just swipe down on your notification panel and cross check. If you see that there is one click on the option and allow your phone to continue with the update process. This can take some time but it’ll be worth the wait if the WiFi connects to your phone quickly after that.
Try Connecting With a Different Device
There are chances that the problem isn’t coming directly from the router, but could from your phone. To make sure, the best thing you can do is connect another device like a laptop, tablet, etc. to the same WiFi and see if there are no issues with it.
If you’re still not able to connect successfully, then your router is at fault. But if the other devices are able to connect without any hassle, proceed with trying the other options.
Restart Your Device
As you try different solutions to help your phone connect with the WiFi make sure you also restart your phone at least once. This could sometimes fix a variety of software-related issues that might have been the reason why the Wifi did not connect in the first place. You can either do a quick restart of your device by long-pressing the power button for about 8-10 seconds or restart your phone the traditional way, just long-press the power button and tap the restart button. Try connecting to the WiFi again to see if the problem persists.
Reset Your Device
This is one of the last resorts you can take at home before getting professional help. Try resetting your device. This will clear the cache and other memory stored inside. But make sure you have saved your data to a different device or external hard drive first because it will be an extra hassle to try and recover all the deleted data.
